Player of the day at cricket!

if you look carefully, on his head is the Player of the Day trophy... Seb played his best game of cricket every yesterday. He was bashing that cricket ball and running hard between the wickets. He retired on 17 (which is pretty impressive as they only get about 5 overs and it is physically impossible to hit a 6)! Of course before we went to cricket there was all kinds of complaining because it was 32C and he didn't want to wear his cricket longs (birthday present from Dad... and I now know the joy of having to get grass stains out of white trousers every week!!! Thanks Dad!) or wear a large brimmed hat... so while he looks perfect, he isn't! "He's just ordinary" as Nana would say xxx

Megane's ballet recital at the Town Hall

Wow, these pictures are bad! But in reality it was really great.... Here are a few pictures I took (before they made an announcement to cut it out because it is being professinally video recorded) of Megane and Grace doing jazz and ballet (Grace is in the front row, middle... Megane is to her right)
Megane is half a arm movement behind and is looking at Grace ;)

This was their Russian character dance and Meg and Grace are in their somewhere...

Here they are in their dressing room - wanting me to put down the camera and leave them alone...

Lucy loves her swimming globbles..

My little Flopsy-Bunny....

Last night at Prizegiving my little Flopsy-Bunny performed in the Kapahaka group, got certificates for stuff and in the announcements for special positions next year she was made a Prefect, Deputy Head Librarian and Head Chorister. My baby! It was in Christs College auditiorium and Seb was so excited to be in there... He can't wait to be a student there (3 years and counting) because they have an ice hockey team, indoor swimming pool and "lots of other sports stuff". They also have the highest fees in NZ but hey, that's not his worry! :)

more photos from yesterday....

The Yr 13s graduated today - Prizegiving was great and they sang an awesome song called Friends Forever I think (mental note: get the music for that song) In any case I was sent some photos of yesterdays banquet and I just had to post a few more... eat your heart out Martha Stewart!

The amazing Yr 13s at our school....

I really hope the Yr 13s from my school don't mind me putting them on here... but they deserve credit and praise for the AMAZING lunch they made for the teaching staff at school today. This picture was taken at the end so you don't get the full effect of the fact that we ate by candlelight (we put the lights on to take this phot0) and had the most beautiful table settings (vintage theme with roses, silver, crystal and rose petals) and the food....... I can't tell you when i have had better at a restaurant. The pictures are all out of order, but too bad.
Dessert: Dreamy chocolate tart with vanilla icecream and rose berry compote (those are pomegranates you can see with the strawberries and the cherries)....

Main: Herb encrusted lemon chicken with potato gratin, served with roasted vegetables (the mushroom was so good I was tempted to steal one of the person next to me), and the asparagus....

I've eaten half of this, but: Palate Cleanser: Selection of melon with raspberry coulis

Entree: Selection of canapes; basil pesto & cherry tomato tartlets (TO DIE FOR!), seared beef and roasted capiscum crostini, bacon and capsicum bundles - this would have been enough.... it sure set a very high standard for what was to come.

My place setting... I should have got a close up of the pretty silver fleur de lisse napkin rings and all the other roses around the room. You can't really see it but there are also rose petals on the tables, and the table linen was beautiful and the serviettes had really pretty edging.

I wish I ate like this more often... I am so full however that I think I will never eat again.

These beautiful floating pompoms were made by the students and were claimed by the teachers! Everyone wanted to take one home :)
If any of my students have cyber stalked me and are reading this.... merci beaucoup
