Wednesday night again :)

These pictures speak for themselves really!!!

Rip-Stik Day at School (to raise money for something)

Seb has been looking forward to lunch time today for weeks... It was his class' turn to pay a "gold coin" and then get to play on The Ramp with either their Rip-stiks or skateboards (sadly, no bikes...) I went down and took some pictures of him and his friends "gettin' some air". Too cute! I also caught up with Lucy and her darling friends Yi-Yen, Willow, Eri and Eun-Sae (Sammie-Lee was somewhere in the background). I am so lucky that I can go down to school whenever I want and hang out with the kids :)

Mutual - 80s night

Did you love the 80s? Actually I tried to avoid the 80s, but anyway it sure makes for a fun party! As you can see we all dressed up (some more than others, ahem, Suzanne Pitama) and had a quiz, a bit 'o dancing and played Touch Rugby (for those that didn't know, it became a competitive sport in the 80s). A fab time was had by all (especially when we had the food)! Oh and the picture of us playing the YM came about because they were desperate to join in the fun (not to mention, they had to give the gym for the "entire evening")... :)

Mutual the other night...

Mi hermano Emanuel tiene un auto similar a lo nuestro (Honda Odyessy). El queria ver fotos del auto para ver como era diferente a lo suyo. Te queremos Emanuel!!!

It's so hard not to laugh sometimes...

Honestly, I think one of the hardest things about being a mum is not laughing AT the kids, or the funny things they say (when they are perfectly serious). I bought a mini pack of wet-wipes today at the shops, so I could keep them in the car and so that Lucy could take them to school in her lunch box so she will finally start eating fruit ("no Mama, I can't eat dat, it makes my hands *sticky*)... Seb found the pack, felt it and then came to me and said "Mum, what's in that? Ladies boobs?" "ummm, what?" "What's in there? It is ladies boobs that they have cut off? What do you do with them? Are they for glueing on?" (ahem, does this mean he thinks I need some glued on boobage???) "Ah no, Bas. They are not women's boobs, they are wet wipes.... like for when you change a baby's nappies." "Oh. I thought they were women's boobs." HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! You know this story is going to re-appear at his 21st!

Dad

My Dad just dropped by after work (he was at Woolston last night and he had a car fire (there is an arsonist out there) and a few other calls...) to bring the kids some savouries. Here they are chatting and Meg is showing him her drawings. We are going to go out to his beach house later today so they can go on the 4 wheeler, collect pinecones and just play around. Poor ol' Dad was going to have a relaxing day out there, but now he is getting visitors :)

mini golf!

We had so much fun today at mini-golf (or in Lucy's case, one-sided hockey). Meg won the Highest Score (she was regularly getting 14-18s on each hole), Lucy won for exaggeration (each round she got "1") and Seb got wettest ball! I should mention that his black eye didn't come from mini-golf - he had a bit of an accident this morning on his homemade Bike Jump Triple Jump. He even cried! I love you kids! xxx (oh and on the subject of injuries, I am hugging Megane because she somehow poked herself in the neck with the golf club when picking up her ball - I tried not to laugh for a while... she didn't take it personally)

Fun times in town yesterday

Yesterday Megane's friend from school Maddie (aka Madagascar) came over to play. We went into town and had a couple of hours to kill before the theatre production of Cinderella began so we wandered around some craft shops - please see the picture of Lucy with Possum Ear Muffs on... then we went to the Art Gallery. I am not sure what was so darn funny, but they were laughing like maniacs! We bumped into Dad at the Art Gallery and he explained how the electric art feature worked to Sebastien (who had been standing there for 20 minutes watching these huge revolving arms swing around and eventually brush against some kind of metalic pad on the wall - which created "fire"...). The production was great and we got pictures with the cast (sigh, fond memories of my days in London hanging out by stage doors...) We also visited the Dyslexic Foundation interactive garden... When you sit on the seats it plays recordings about the dyslexic experience, and famous dyslexics and how they overcame the negative attitudes of others... As you can imagine, the talking seats were all kinds of fun...

Some more holiday news...

Well that's weird, instead of seeing uploaded photos on my screen right now I am seeing weirdo computer language... so if they don't show I'll try again later. In any case I've picked a few photos of life over the last week... The kids making a huge mess of the living room (aka "playing"), Megane and Shannon in one of the WWII aircraft at the Air Force Museum, William and Sebastien playing soldiers at the AF Museum, Lucy and Lizzie doing WHO KNOWS WHAT!!! (when I said "what on earth are you two doing???" Lucy said "Mama look! We are makes-ing the baby do pipi in the toilet" and Lizzie just looked like she was going to get sent to her room! Funny!" and ummm, I forget what other pictures are there! Enjoy! xx Suzy

The world's worst blogger...

How is it that I never find the time to sit down and write something on this blog? What excuse is good enough for not doing it??? Cleaning up? Looking after the kids? Take people places? Being YW President? Sleeping? They all sound rather shonky to me... Everything is good, the weather is great, the kids are having a great time on their holidays and I've got a list a mile long of things to do... Getting some photos on this blog is on the list so... I'll be back later!

The Good's are here!

Within minutes of being here the kids were eating chocolate, yahooing around the house, wheeling (in various forms) up and down the road (we live on a dead-end)
and then... watching TV!
(Dom and les 3 Amies)
Lucy and Lizzie having a late night bowl of porrige
(of course, I can't imagine having Liz and Will
for longer than an hour without making porrige).
And yes before you ask, they are smothered in lice treatment!
Lizzie was here 10 minutes and Lucy said "mum, what what i found, a 'pidies"
(Lucy talk for "spiders" aka lice)
and lo and behold, she had about 5 huge big grandaddies on her head!!!
I immediately checked Liz and she is totally INFESTED with eggs.
Luckily I bought a $40 bar of Emu Oil soap last week
so now all the kids are being treated. JOY!
As anyone that knows me knows
LICE ARE MY ENEMY!
I just know I won't sleep tonight, and if I do I'll be having nightmares about that lice comb and the 'pidies I saw wiggling in it....
On the bright side though,
The Good's are here! The Good's are here!!!!

Brie'Ellen is here to visit!

Yahoo! Brie'Ellen is back to visit for a few days (from Auckland, she was Megane's best friend when we lived on the North Shore) and we are having fun....

At the park (Brie'Ellen was smart enough to get off the tyre swing when
Sebastien got on and started swinging it)

This is Brie'Ellen's grandmother's garden - I am totally inspired. We have wanted to do this to a pear tree, apple tree and feijoa tree (on the back of our front fence) for years and THIS YEAR i am going to do it!

Megane, Brie'Ellen and Gracie
Megane's two favourite people in the whole world :) and they get along really well
all 3 of them together!

And of course they all love (and look after) Lucy-Lu

Yesterday afternoon they were playing Barbie's on the back lawn for hours...
And tonight, the Good's arrive for a week!
William, Lizzie and Shannon - let the mayhem begin!
