Megane attends her Victorian Soiree avec Papa
Isn't she adorable? Megane's school just finished studying a unit about Victorian England and the colony they set up here in Christchurch. To finish up they host a soiree in the school hall and everyone has to dress up and play the part. She loved it! I wasn't well enough to go along, so Dom took photos for me. We put together that dress and I did her hair (I know, miracle! Considering I don't even brush my own...) and they had the best time, and lots of yummy food (of course, Megane's favourite part).

Meg's 12th Birthday Party (another one)
This girl has had the most feted birthday ever! Her parties have been stretched over a week... and all of them lots of fun. It seems this is the only picture I have right now. Meg had an Under The Sea party for her girlfriends and I was in charge of decorations, but at the last minute Dom decided he couldn't cope with a shipwreck in his living room (since it was finishing so late) so this is all we had, courtsey of Lucy. Cute, eh :)

Stake Activity coming up soon....
School trip to Ferrymead Historic Village
We had so much fun! Of course I dressed up in my pioneer outfit (surprisingly I was the only Parent Helper that owns faux victorian clothing...) and Meg was glad I "looked the part because it is always more fun that way" (spoken like a girl whose mother sells vintage clothing online....) and we made damper (blerg, and not because it is yuck, but because the hands that made it were none too clean and they would NOT take instruction from me!) and butter, and did all kinds of pioneer tasks... If only it was freezing cold (11C) it would have been the perfect day. Hopefully I'll get more pics to post later

Sebastien teaches Lucy to play GreenDay
My Ice Hockey Husband
Dom went away for a few days to play in an Ice Hockey tournament (in Tekapo) and he had the best time! As you can see they had shocking amounts of snow (it fell for *3 days* to get that thick!!:) He stayed in a big house with his Ice Hockey friends. The first day, the Zamboni was broken so they had to play on snowy ice (the rink was outside) which was... a challenge. Dom says he played in the first game, and got the first goal. "It was an amazing shot, straight thru some players legs and into the goal and the goalie never saw a thing!" He played 4 games total and scored 2 goals. He can't wait for next year's tournament, and maybe we will go to watch (if it isn't considered gate crashing on their Boys Weekend)
