Clearly I am a fan of the un-posed picture...

I love all the perfect photos people put up of themselves, their kids and their houses... however I am not that bright/lucky/put together and we usually end up with THIS kind of photo - and I love them! They totally show the kids personalities and what the event was really like. So, for our 16th wedding anniversary we went to the Lone Star for dinner. Lucy was Class Leader that day and got to bring home Honey (the stuffed dog), Meg is wearing her favourite new sweatshirt (and it is the first sweatshirt she has worn since she was about 18 months old) and Sebastien... he just accidently got pen on Megane's sweatshirt so she is showing it to us, and he is ignoring her cos "who cares, it is just some pink top!!". The table is covered with drawing stuff because Megane never misses out on a chance to colour-in, but she didn't want to do it alone so we all had a go. It was a fun night. I didn't have to cook or clean! Woo hoo!

Oh man... bring on the botox!

I am laughing so hard right now... The girls at school hijacked my camera again the other day and took halarious pictures of themselves and a couple of me (although they are not halarious, unless you are Sam and Jessica and you love laughing at me). Will you look at the hair! And the forehead (yes Sam, the 5-head)... even when relaxed (phot0 1) it is wrinkly! And here... well, let's all have a good laugh and move on shall we?
PS Note to self. Invest in lipstick!!!

Lucy Beauty-Cakes

Here's my angel-baby in her winter uniform. Enjoy. And enjoy it quick, because she won't be this tiny and gorgeous for long. She is growing like a weed. xxx

It's a bird, it's a plane, no it's Super Dom!

So, Dom and Sebastien went to the bike park... Dom always tells Sebastien to go faster, jump higher and basically do more. Then he figured, "why tell him when I can show him?"

This is why not... he hit the ramp and came a cropper. You should have seen his arm. And what is worse is that as soon as he was injured he insisted they come straight home so poor Sebastien had to miss out! As he told me, "I hurt myself all the time and I don't GO HOME! I keep riding"

he he he he he he he......

Sebas is in love...

Dad's back!

Dad has been away on the Gold Coast for a few days with a group of "refugees" from the earthquake... Jetstar (airlines) organized it and well... he isn't complaining but I'd like to have a word with someone! They stayed in Cedar Lakes, Advancetown - a $100 (minimum) taxi ride from town. All the taxi drivers refused to even take them because it would be a 1.5hr round trip so it would cost at least $200 but Dad finally found a big maori bloke from Aranui that knew a few of the boys and he agreed to do it for $80 (the cost of the petrol). Thanks! So morning and night they were paying a heap of cash to get in and out of town. All breakfasts were provided - in a cardboard box... 5 days worth of UHT milk, a tiny box of Kornies and some Museli Bites that were hard as rocks, and some chinese orange juice that burnt off their tastebuds! They were given tickets to a Warriors game and ummm some other Aussie League game I think. Nosebleed seats, behind the goal posts where you could see nothing and one was in a windtrap late at night, and the other game they were in the full sun and were sunburnt to a crisp. I'm laughing while I type this cos it was just so darn funny listening to Dad tell me about it... Then the trip home. They left the "hotel" (they were told it would be a room each in a hotel, turns out it was "Australia's original timeshare flats" from the 60s, and there were 3 beds per 4 men. Dad refused to sleep in a double bed with one of the boys so Dad got the mattress with the sheet and his friend got the cushions on the floor) at 7am, got to the airport and were told their flight was cancelled, but they would be bused to Brisbane and they could get the 3pm flight to Auckland (arriving at midnight) and then they could wait at the domestic terminal until 7am when they could get a flight to Christchurch. UMMM HELLO! Dad was coming home to go straight back on duty!
He really wasn't complaining but at one point he said "I think we were Rent a Crowd to boost up numbers at the games or something..." (in all seriousness) which was halarious but SAD! So I hope we don't have anymore big earthquakes tonight (like last night at 3am! We were thrown around so much everyone woke up - it was HUGE) so he can get some sleep.
